Tania Princz-Lebel
Associate Lawyer
As our newest associate, Tania is no stranger to immigration practice. She has assisted on a range of cases while also conducting her own detention reviews, refugee matters and permanent residence applications.
Tania is an Associate lawyer practising in the areas of immigration and refugee law at Kumararatne Law. Tania has been with the firm since 2021, after joining as a law student and completing her articles with Kumararatne Law before getting called to the Bar in 2023.
Since joining Kumararatne Law, Tania has worked on a wide variety of immigration matters, including refugee claims and appeals, H&C applications, detention reviews, Pre-Removal Risk Assessments, work permit applications, spousal sponsorship applications, and permanent residence applications.
Tania received her J.D. from the University of Ottawa in 2022. While attending law school, Tania worked at the Community Legal Services of Ottawa refugee law clinic, was a member of the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers, and volunteered as a peer mentor in the JurisMentor Program. Before attending law school, Tania completed a master’s degree in National Security Studies at the University of Tel Aviv, and a Bachelor of Arts in political science and history at McGill University.
Tania’s passion for immigration and refugee law stems from her interest in international migration issues and the stories she grew up hearing about her family’s own immigration history.
Outside of work, Tania enjoys travelling, cooking and baking, and spending time with friends and family. In the summer, she also enjoys hiking, kayaking, and gardening.
